A recipe for success

Founded in 1960 by John Scinicariello’s grandparents, John The Baker initially opened its doors in Stamford, Connecticut. Firm believers that using fresh ingredients and providing superb customer service were two of the most important aspects for running a successful restaurant, their grandson was a witness to this testament.

From the age of 5, John began spending all of his free time at his grandparent’s restaurant, helping in any way that he could when it came to food preparation. When his grandfather passed away, his uncle Mario and his grandmother opened Mario The Baker in Stamford, where John worked all throughout his high school years.

In 1969, his uncle sold the restaurant in Stamford and relocated his business to North Miami, Florida. Four years later, John followed, eventually serving as the restaurant’s manager for over 23 years. Finally, in 1996, he left to open John The Baker in Pembroke Pines, alongside his wife, Patty.

A decade later, in 2006, the husband-wife duo opened a second location in Cooper City, after which they sold the Pines location in 2007.

Honoring family traditions in a modern atmosphere

Fast forward to today, John The Baker offers franchise opportunities for those who are interested in running their very own John the Baker. The franchise program, developed by Franchise Creator and run by Hossein Kasmai, has rapidly become one of the most popular franchise programs in the market. It teaches new franchisees how to implement the business within their local community so that they will develop a repeat customer base, as well as how to run the business from top to bottom so that locals and tourists alike will be lining up to get a taste of what’s cooking.

With two convenient locations in the state of Florida, the John The Baker franchise in Pembroke Pines is owned and operated by the Scinicariello Family & the John The Baker franchise in Coral Springs is owned and operated by the Fernandez Family.

Sixty years since its initial opening and three generations in the making, John The Baker is proud to serve quality food to those who come through their door. Considered a true gem among the local community, it is where employees are treated like family and customers eat like royalty.
